Welcome to the Big Difference Scheme application portal for new and renewal customers.
If your household income is low, you may be entitled to a BIG reduction. If eligible for the scheme, you could receive a discount on your Severn Trent water bill.
To apply for the Big Difference Scheme you will need to:
- Create an account - If you are applying for the discount yourself, please create an individual account. If you work for an advice agency, please create an advice agency account.
- Provide details of who lives at the property with you.
- Provide your water account number. You must have an active water account with Severn Trent Water to apply. You need to be named on the water account at your current address to apply for Big Difference scheme.
- Provide details of your total household income.
- Submit your application.
In order to support your application, we will need the following;
- Proof of all household income - if you have family members over 18 within the household, their income will need to be included within the assessment.
Please ensure you have these ready to upload when completing your application. You will not be able to submit your application without attaching the documents listed above. Applications submitted with insufficient information will be declined.
The Big Difference Scheme is a non-standard payment arrangement to help those who need assistance with their water charges. If accepted onto this scheme Severn Trent Water will share information with credit reference agencies, and this could influence your credit status. Customer Assistance Scheme
Severn Trent are now offering free Income Maximisation, Debt Advice and white goods to their customers who need additional support. This includes the identification of unclaimed welfare benefit entitlements, personal budgeting and money management advice. There is also a small pot of money available to help those who are without essential kitchen appliances such as cookers, washing machines and fridge-freezers.
